Information on my Dinosaur Footprints and “After” Tracks
While visiting my Daughter in Austin in 2004, I discovered a fossil site two and a half blocks from her house! I took some home to Alaska and started making dinosaur footprints in glass.

When she saw them, she decided we should go to Glen Rose, Texas, where the big dinosaur footprints are and maybe we could find out what kind they were....well I loved Glen Rose and decided to move down! I wanted to be a fossil rancher, don't have to feed or water, just harvest! That is until the snakes and insects take over, it can get scary and dangerous! But when my Daughter passed away in 2009 and then my Mom got sick, I decided to move to Green Valley, Arizona, to take care of my Mom and open a new gallery. This collection of dinosaur footprints and after tracks is from my time in Texas:
The dino prints are the direct impression of the foot in stone...the “after” tracks are formed when mud (or who knows what) slid into the tracks and hardened, you see the positive image of a footprint! The ground is a combination of clay and sand which sticks to your feet even now when it is damp, in fact you have to shake it off sometimes, so did the dinosaurs! Sometimes they had dirty feet to begin with! Lots of extra things stick to the “after” tracks, too. It looks like they may have stepped in their own drool, it is slimy and bubbly looking!
Imagine this... our little dinosaur is walking along the beach leaving deep tracks in the wet sand, it is hot! The tracks harden and dry...muddy sand fills them at high tide, that mud hardens, drys and shrinks leaving the track half filled...then a tsunami deposits more heavy pebbles and ocean debris into the rest of the track!! Then the hardened “after” track is washed out of the mold and rolls around in the sand and is finally buried waiting to be found!
If any of these interest you, let me know, shipping is included in the price. My descriptions aren't scientific but at some point I would like to work with the scientists because I figured out how to take the impressions for my glass work and there is more there than you can imagine!
My site in Austin had thinner prints which were more delicate and they seem to be mostly from five toed creatures with webbed feet.
I have footprints and after tracks in a variety of styles and sizes -- from tiny three-toed shapes under an inch all the way up to footprints over 9 inches long. Prices range from $30 to $60 for after tracks in little packages and go up to $75, $100, $150, $200 and up to $800 depending on clarity and size.
There is a size for everyone, but there are only a few left!
